he main factor that identifies Variant 1 is that it has a thin handle grip. It has also been categorised into two sub sections - Va and Vb due to a variation in the cross-hatching pattern on the handle.
V1a - Cast in Solid Black.

V4 - Toy Toys Variant.
This REPRO was mass produced in the 1990s in Asia and was cast in three colours: Black, Blue and Grey
These REPROs are more brittle than the originals and also fail the float test. They are easy to identify as they don't have the raised circle on the barrell which is found on all of the originals. (See picture below).
There is also no circle present on the handle.
V1 - Cast in Black.
V1 - Cast in Blue.
V1 - Cast in Grey.
This REPRO does have the circle present on the handle, but unlike the originals it does not have the raised circle / dot on the barrel (see pictures below).
Also, the plastic is much more brittle in comparison to the originals.
V2 - Cast in Black.
A similar V2 mould blaster but coloured grey was discovered in July 2015.
This was followed by the 2017 discovery of another V2 Repro that is reported to have been in a collection since the early 2000s. This repro floats and rises to the surface when submerged.
This repro comes from a set of six floating blasters (read more HERE). It mimics an original by floating when placed on water and rising back to the surface when submerged. The blaster is cast in a Rigid, Shiny, Black plastic with Excess Flashing.
As well as floating, the V3 Repro (pictured in the centre between two originals below) has the raised dot present on the barrel that previous repros did not have.
This REPRO of the Argentinian Top Toys palace blaster was advertised (then pulled) from eBay in Apr 2013. The seller claimed it was one of only five made as a limited edition run and that it was painted.
